For this recent slate of my blogs, I'm highlighting recipes from my new cookbook, A Perfect 10 Party Edition! Today, let's look at the Birthday Party menu!


This Top 10 list of Birthday Party recipes and ideas is a keeper - starting with the soon-to-be-your-favorite party punch, Lemon Chiffon Punch. For the food buffet, I share a bunch of ideas, from Almondy Caesar Salad to a killer Veggie Lasagna to some amazing dessert options, including Bacon Pineapple Upside Down Cake to my go-to BEST Birthday Cake with No Churn Ice Cream.


To get the party started, I suggest this stupidly easy to make appy, my Yummus! Yogurt Dip.


Here's the Recipe: In a blender or food processor, throw together one garlic clove, two 15-ounce cans of garbanzo beans (rinsed/drained), 1/2 cup of plain yogurt, two teaspoons of white wine vinegar, a teaspoon of cumin, and 1/2 teaspoon each of Kosher salt and black pepper. Blend until smooth.


Transfer to a nice serving bowl, drizzle with a little olive oil, and sprinkle a few pomegranate seeds on the top, and if you have it, a smattering of dried chopped basil. Serve with your veggies or crackers of choice.
